About Our Content
Fontana Heritage is built by and for the Fontana community. We take accuracy seriously and believe transparency builds trust. Here’s how we source, verify, and present the information on this site.
Verification Policy
Every directory entry on Fontana Heritage carries a verification status so you always know how much confidence to place in the information you’re reading.
We use a three-tier system:
- Verified — We have confirmed the information against official sources (such as city websites or organization pages). Verified entries display a blue “Verified” badge, the date we last checked, and links to the sources we used.
- Community Sourced — The information was contributed by community members and has not yet been independently verified. These entries carry a “Community Sourced” badge so you know the origin.
- Unverified — The entry exists as a placeholder or early draft. We haven’t confirmed the details yet and encourage you to check official sources directly.
Each entry also includes source links so you can verify claims yourself, along with a “last checked” date that tells you how recently we reviewed the information. Official information may change at any time — we always recommend confirming on the organization’s official website.
Creative Content Policy
Fontana Heritage tells the story of our city through a blend of historical research and creative narrative. Our heritage stories and resident profiles use an oil-paint gallery aesthetic to bring Fontana’s history to life in a way that feels vivid and personal.
Because creative storytelling and historical fact can look similar on the page, we clearly separate the two:
- Heritage stories and resident profiles include a Creative Notice near the top of the page. This notice explains that the narrative is a creative interpretation inspired by real history — characters, dialogue, or events may be fictionalized, while the historical context is real and sourced.
- Factual sections within heritage stories include source links so you can trace claims back to their origins.
Our goal is to honor Fontana’s heritage with warmth and imagination while making sure you always know what’s fact and what’s artistry.
